Hello from Saving Our Sisters!
Over the last seven years, the passion that 2 women found has spread to so many others.
Together, we have realized that we CAN make a difference. We CAN work together to educate society. We CAN empower mothers and families in crisis and help them make informed choices to preserve their families when there is no danger of abuse or neglect.
We ARE finding our voices. We ARE speaking our truths, and we ARE helping others, which in turn helps all of us.
Saving Our Sisters has been able to help eighty three families over the last three years keep their families intact. Some needed mentoring, some needed financial assistance, some needed attorney fees, some needed knowledge on how to comprehend the words on their consent forms, some needed assistance finding an attorney. SOS was there for them.
There are countless other families who we assisted, who we did not keep track of prior to 2015.
There have only been 4 families who have gone forward with their adoption plan. Those were tough for us, watching our sisters and their infants head for a life of separation that we wouldn’t wish on anyone. But even as hard as it was to watch, we knew that we did our very best to help them and gave them the tools to advocate for themselves in their choice.
We want to welcome everyone to the new website! Building it has been quite a learning experience, and a real labor of love. Click around – we hope you love it!
This is the next step in this journey, and we are so happy to have you join us in whatever way works for you. We all do our part and all of those parts, no matter how small you think they are, can help us as a whole make a difference.
Preserving a family is truly an experience of a lifetime. Preserving multiple families in a single lifetime is healing.
